    Samuel Walsh, b.1951

    Irish painter and draughtsman Samuel Walsh attended the Limerick School of Art, Mary Immaculate College of Education and the National College of Art & Design. His abstract compositions draw on personal biography and religious and classical references. Walsh founded the National Collection of Contemporary Drawing in 1987. He has exhibited extensively and is represented in public collections including the Arts Council of Ireland; Butler Gallery, Kilkenny, and Trinity College Dublin.
