About the Artist

Catherine Lee b.1950

American artist Catherine Lee first exhibited in New York at PS1 in 1980. A hybrid of painting, sculpture and installation, Lee’s work juxtaposes the simplicity of repeated forms with a wide variety of materials. Fabricated in clay, concrete, fibreglass and metal, her work is frequently presented in groups. Lee has exhibited internationally from the 1980s. Her work is included in the collections of SFMOMA; MoMA, New York; Tate, London, and the Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh.
