Photographer Elliott Erwitt was born in France to Russian parents. The family immigrated to the US in 1939. Erwitt studied photography at Los Angeles City College and film at the New School for Social Research, New York. His photographic work captures moments of the sublime in ordinary life. He also created intimate portraits of iconic figures including Marilyn Monroe, Che Guevara and Jackie Kennedy. Erwitt joined Magnum Photos in 1953 and served as president of the agency in the late 1960s.View Artist
