About the Artist

Erik Adriaan van der Grijn b.1941

Dutch artist Erik Adriaan van der Grijn attended the Royal College of Art in The Hague. He lived in Ireland for two decades until 1995, when he relocated to New York, and then Buenos Aires. Van der Grijn creates large scale works on canvas and less conventional surfaces which act as a form of protest against social and historical injustice. Van der Grijn exhibited extensively in Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections.
