About the Artist

Michael Scott, 1905–1989

Irish architect Michael Scott served as an apprentice at the architectural firm of Jones and Kelly. He worked in partnership with Norman D. Good, before setting up his own architectural practice in 1938. Scott is acknowledged as the leading exponent of modern architecture in Ireland due to his adoption of the International Style and dedication to modernist ideals. Scott’s most important buildings include Donnybrook Bus Garage and Busáras. He was awarded the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 1975.
