Stephen Brandes, b.1966

Chandelier, 2004

” ‘Chandelier’ was the second in what was to become a sizeable series of works, where floor vinyl provided the ground for large and highly detailed drawings of a perpetually reinvented fictional world. In these pieces, drawing becomes a vehicle for story-telling, where both satirical observation and invention are interwoven into dystopian topographies.”*
