Irish sculptor John Behan studied at Ealing Art College, London, and the Royal Academy School, Oslo. Behan’s figurative sculptures in bronze, combine ancient culture and mythology with modern technique. He was a founder member of the New Artists’ group in 1962, the Project Art Centre in 1967 and the Dublin Foundry in 1970. Behan has exhibited nationally and internationally and completed major public commissions in Mayo, Donegal, Galway and Dublin. He is an elected member of the RHA and Aosdána.
