About the Artist

Patrick Hall, b.1935

Irish artist Patrick Hall studied at the Chelsea School of Art in London. He moved to Spain in 1966, returning to live in Dublin in 1974. Through his paintings Hall attempts to explore the tension between the spiritual and material aspects of life, the vanity and futility of man's aspirations and the desire for peace. His works are included in many private and public collections. Hall was elected as a member of Aosdána in 1982. An exhibition of his drawings took place at IMMA in 2007.
