British conceptual artist Liam Gillick attended Hertfordshire College of Art and Goldsmiths College, London. His practice to date has encompassed a wide range of media and activities, including sculpture, writing, architectural and graphic design, film, and music, as well as various critical and curatorial projects. Gillick's work as a whole is marked by a fondness for diversions and distractions, tangents and evasions. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2002. Gillick lives in New York and his work is included in many public collections.
