Spanish artist Susana Solano attended the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. She has exhibited internationally, including at Documenta VIII and IX, the Venice Biennale, 1988 and 1993 and the Carnegie International in Pittsburgh in 1988. She received a National Prize from the Ministry of Culture of Spain in 1988 and a Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize in 2011. Solano is represented in collections including the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburg; Guggenheim, Bilbao; and MoMA New York.
