Spanish artist Susana Solano (born 1946) studied at the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Since 1978 she has exhibited internationally, including Documenta VIII and IX in 1987 and 1992, the Venice Biennale in 1988 and 1993 and the Carnegie International in Pittsburgh in 1988. Her awards include a National Prize from the Ministry of Culture of Spain in 1988 and a Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize in 2011. Solano’s work can be found in numerous collections including the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburg; Guggenheim, Bilbao; and MoMA New York.
