Overview

Sean Hanrahan is a multidisciplinary artist who often works with the mediums of flags and banners on various curated public exhibitions and projects since 2014. He is interested in place, location, and historical proximity of sites. These interests and reflections inform the production of visual displays that act as temporary signals to highlight a distinct sense of place, they are made where they belong or are handed over to the public arena. Hanrahan’s work has an ongoing interest in creating fine art print work, informed by photography with an emphasis on experimenting with processes to create portrait and abstract works.

Based in Cork Hanrahan has a Degree in Fine Art Printmaking from LSAD.  some recent projects and exhibitions include Facebook Artist in residence (AIR) program and VUE Art Fairs with Cork Print-makers; Arch exhibition of Belarusian graphic work curated by Sean Hanrahan and Roman Sustov; Studio 12 Backwater Artists, Cork; Night Frightens the Day, VCCA (Centre for Contemporary and Modern Art) Minsk, Belarus; Artists are here!, Tolstoy Arts Centre, Vitebsk, Belarus and Over the Sun (Kazimir Malevichs influence on western Artists), Vitebsk Gallery of Modern Art (V.
