Chilean painter and graphic artist Juan Gomez Quiroz studied at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Chile, Rhode Island School of Design, Yale University School of Art and Architecture and the Pratt Graphic Centre, New York. He held positions in the Department of Art at New York University from 1969 to 1976, and the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Art in New York from 1990. He also served as director of Writer's Space at Hostos Community College, City University of New York.
