Joe Lee is an independent film and video maker. From the 1990s his work has included a range of video documentation/archive projects with Irish National Cultural Institutions and the direction and curation of public art projects. This work included an extensive range of film/arts projects in Inchicore, O’Devaney Gardens and the North West Inner City Markets Area of Dublin. He was film maker in residence for Dublin City Council in 2009 and launched the popular 52 minute documentary ‘Bananas on the Breadboard’ about the story of the markets area and street trading in Dublin. Other work includes projects with CityWide Drugs Crisis Campaign; the Babel DVD project with composer Roger Doyle and Dance Ireland; North Inner City Violence Against Women Action Group and St Michael’s Estate Regeneration Board.
