Irish photographer Amelia Stein (born 1958) has worked freelance since 1981. Stein’s extensive body of photographic work ranges from portraiture, images of the performing arts and Dublin’s Botanical Gardens, to deeply personal examinations of loss and memory, absence and presence. In 2004 Stein became the first photographer to be elected a member of the RHA. She is also a member of Aosdána. Stein’s work has been exhibited nationwide at venues such as the RHA and the Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast.
