English pop artist Allen Jones studied at Hornsey College of Art and the Royal College of Art. Influenced by the writings of Freud, Jung and erotic imagery in popular culture, his paintings, prints and sculptural work from are characterised by stylised male and female motifs. Jones received the Prix des Jeunes Artistes at the Paris Biennale in 1963. He has held teaching posts at Croydon College of Art; University of California, Los Angeles and the Banff Center School of Fine Arts, Alberta.
