The Gordon Lambert Archive Project / Heritage Week Display
The Gordon Lambert Archive Project is an ongoing project to catalogue Gordon Lambert’s archive funded with help from The Heritage Council. The archive has been held in IMMA since 2005 and contains a fascinating collection of material including professional and private correspondence, printed material, press cuttings, photographs and ephemera spanning over 50 years.

The Hennessy Art Fund for IMMA Collection
The Hennessy Art Fund for IMMA Collection supports the acquisition of works by artists not yet represented by the IMMA Collection. The exhibition showcases the four Irish based artists whose work will now join IMMA’s Collection. The chosen artists for 2016, the first year of the fund, are Kevin Atherton, David Beattie, Rhona Byrne and Dennis McNulty.

IMMA Collection: A Decade
IMMA, as the national cultural institution for collecting modern and contemporary art, aims to acquire examples of the most significant Irish art of the day as well as key works by international artists many of whom have been part of the museum’s temporary exhibition and residency programmes.

IMMA Collection: Nick Miller and the studio of Edward McGuire
In 2009 Sally McGuire, wife of the late Edward McGuire formally donated the contents of the artist’s Dublin studio to the National Collection at IMMA. The artist Nick Miller was invited to respond to the contents of the studio and this exhibition is the culmination of this process.

IMMA Collection: Approaches to paper
This exhibition explores the material qualities of paper and the significance of preparatory work in studio practice. Artists include Edward Allington, Andrew Folan, Antony Gormley, Alice Maher, Hughie O’Donoghue, Kiki Smith, Kara Walker and Hermione Wiltshire.
IMMA Collection: Fragments
This exhibition borrows its title from Philosopher Walter Benjamin’s comparison of the work of translation to re-assembling fragments of a broken vase – the individual fragments must come together, but need not be like each other. This could also be taken as an allegory for exhibition making, or collecting.

Beverly Semmes: Big Silver and One Green Leaf
For this exhibition we are delighted to present a work from the IMMA Collection in an expanded context. IMMA approached the New York-based artist Beverly Semmes, who has collaborated with us on this project, and has generously lent work from her studio and has given unprecedented access to her archive.
