Visiting IMMA with Groups (10 or More People)
Guided tours are available for special interest groups including schools, colleges and adult education. Your group will be led through one of our exhibitions exploring a variety of themes, and your knowledgeable guide will pull together connections and meaning from distinct parts of the exhibition programme. Led by members of our Visitor Engagement Team every tour is different.
Maximum school group size 32. Two adults should accompany each school group. Maximum Adult group size 50.
Tours are led by IMMA staff and are free of charge. Normal exhibition fee applies for special exhibitions.
The majority of IMMA’s exhibitions are free to enter, except for occasional special exhibitions, such as the IMMA Collection: Freud Project. Admission to all IMMA exhibitions is free for those under 18 and/or those in full time education.
If you choose not to avail of a free tour with one of our Visitor Engagement Team you may still visit the museum with your group, but you will need to book your group visit in with us. Capacity for each gallery space changes for every exhibition so it is important to note that the galleries might not be able to accommodate entry to large groups. Access is therefore not guaranteed and will depend on capacity on a given day and time. Priority will always be given to groups who have booked in with us in advance.
Groups must be supervised at all times. Larger groups must be split into smaller groups of fifteen people, with one leader per group.
Please ensure that the leader remains with the group at all times in the gallery.
Groups of over 10 people seeking to book a self-guided visit should contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week in advance
Groups arriving without pre-booking may be asked to wait or return at a later time.
Any self-guided groups wishing to visit IMMA Collection: Freud Project must notify IMMA in advance of your visit as entry is by time-slot only. Due to the number and delicate nature of the works and the limited circulation space of the historic building that houses the Freud Centre capacity is strictly limited and large groups cannot be accommodated in this exhibition. Please email email@example.com for more details.
Group leaders and students visiting the Gallery should make themselves familiar with the IMMA’s terms and conditions.
