Drawing to form comprises some 56 drawings and sculptures from the Weltkunst Collection of British Art. The exhibition aims to demonstrate the key role of drawing in the creation of three-dimensional objects. The Weltkunst Collection, currently on loan to IMMA focuses on sculpture from the 1980’s and 90’s but also holds an impressive collection of drawings.

Many of the artists included in the exhibition are primarily recognised for their sculptural practice. Through the inclusion of preparatory and associated drawings the exhibition endeavours to provide greater insight into the artist’s conceptual process. Drawing to form includes works by artists such as Tony Cragg, Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, Alison Wilding and Shirazeh Houshiary.
